Activities

The Krkonoše Mountains belong to the most well known mountain range in the Czech Republic – the Sněžka Mountain (1 602 metres above sea level) is the highest summit of the country.

Beautiful nature and high-level tourist services attract thousands of visitors each year. In winter, the Krkonoše Mountains are the most visited region in Czech thanks to the high-quality and varied conditions for downhill skiing as well as an extensive network of cross-country ski tracks. By contrast, in summer, the Mountains attract those who enjoy hiking or cycling since there are dozens of well-marked cycling trails to be discovered in the region.

The eastern part of the Krkonoše Mountains is represented by a group of municipalities of Černý Důl (Čistá in the Krkonoše Mountains is a part of it), Horní Maršov, Janské Lázně, Malá Úpa, Mladé Buky, Pec pod Sněžkou, Svoboda nad Úpou, Trutnov and Žacléř.
